The SC State Board of Education held a special called meeting today at 10:00 AM. 

 

Among the items discussed:

1. Approval of Emergency Regulations 43-40, COVID-19 Waiver and Suspension of Provisions

    Governor McMaster issued an Executive Order on March 17 giving the State Superintendent of Education the ability to waive or suspend any state regulations in Section 43 deems necessary.  An action plan will be released by the SDE by early next week to address future closings and schedules.

 

2. Approval of District Assisting, Developing, and Evaluating Professional Teaching (ADEPT) Plans

     The deadline to submit ADEPT Plans by districts is extended to July 1,2020.

 

3. Expanded Emergency Exemptions for Spring 2020 Clinical and Field Experiences (COVID19)

     Modifications have been put in place for student teaching requirements in the spring of 2020.
